Texas Blaze Girls Ice Hockey

Shelly earned the USA Hockey Master Level Coaching Certification in 2001 and
attended the 2002 and 2004 Women's and Girls' Coaching Workshops held in
conjunction with the National Team Festival in Lake Placid. She has been on the
Rocky Mountain District Camp Coaching Staff since 2002 and on the Texas Player
Development Program (TXPDP) Coaching Staff since 2004. Shelly took on the
co-coaching responsibilities for the Blaze 16U Tier I team in its inaugural season
of 2003-2004. Prior to the Blaze, she coached the HERricane U19 Tier 1 team
from 1996-2003. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Shelly has served as
the Texas Amateur Hockey Association Girls' and Women's Section President
since 2003, the Houston Girls' and Women's Hockey Association President since
its foundation in 1998, and the Aerodrome Sugar Land Assistant Hockey Director
since 1996. Shelly played Division I college hockey as a goalie for Princeton
University from 1988-1992. Her career accomplishments include an Ivy League
Championship in 1992 and All Ivy Academic Honors in 1992. Shelly received her
Master of Architecture degree from Rice University in 1998 and is a licensed
architect and Associate at Jackson & Ryan Architects in Houston.

Pierre Haché is the new head coach of the Blaze U16 team. He has many years of
experience in hockey, both as a player and a coach. He holds coaching certifications
from Hockey Canada, USA Hockey and the Canadian National Coaching Certification
Program. He has coached youth hockey in Phoenix, Colorado Springs, Boston,
Ottawa and Dallas. He has also coached numerous levels of Box Lacrosse in
Canada. Pierre has played hockey as a youth and as an adult in the Canadian Forces
league system, a high-caliber league that holds regional and national championship
competitions in Canada. His professional approach to coaching brings discipline, a
high level of hockey energy and a rewarding experience to the players he coaches.
